You will rarely have the opportunity to see Flamingos ( Phoenicopterus sp.) from so close in central Africa, but yes it is possible in the Wildlife reserve of Douala-Edea, which is a wetland with a very diverse aquatic and terrestrial wildlife. For lovers of ecotourism and researchers this is a site facing challenges with a struggle to sustainably use resources from mangrove ecosystems on which local population highly depend.
Beyond, you can see an amazing avifaune, with beautiful birds; an incredible aquatic wildlife, with the endangered species lamatin (Trichecus sp.); and a wildlife typical of mangroves, developing inside the mud and tidal water.
