The National Park of Mbam and Djerem

This protected area is located in the center of Cameroon, with the particularity of being a transitional ecosystem between forest and savanna. If you like hiking, it will be even better for you to walk through and see how the vegetation changes  and at the same time to observe an amazing wildlife. The Black and white Colobus (Colobus guereza), a long tailed monkey which as the name indicates is black and white in colour, is one of the main animals specific to the protected area. Bird watching, ecotourism , research  is opportune for the protected area. In fact, a non governmental organisation, Wildlife Conservation Society, welcome visitors for different purposes, and offer infrastructures, technical support, and human resources to carry out their respective activities.

Amazing Wildlife in the Reserve of Douala Edea

You will rarely have the opportunity to see Flamingos ( Phoenicopterus sp.) from so close in central Africa, but yes it is possible in the Wildlife reserve of Douala-Edea, which is a wetland with a very diverse aquatic and terrestrial wildlife. For lovers of ecotourism and researchers this is a site facing challenges with a struggle to sustainably use resources from mangrove ecosystems on which local population highly depend.
